The girls varsity basketball team cruised by Sandusky St. Mary's 55-21 to win the programs 3rd District championship in school history. They will travel to Massillon Perry HS this Thursday to play in the Regionals. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
The boys varsity basketball team defeated Mansfield Christian 67-32 to win the program's 3rd consecutive Sectional championship. They will travel to Willard HS this Wednesday and play Ashland Crestview in the Districts. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
The girls HS wrestling team had four girls place at this past weekend's Sectional tournament. Kendyll Salyer (125 lbs.) and Kiera Depinet (140 lbs.) were champions of their weight classes. Roslyn Johnston (145 lbs.) finished 2nd and Jolie Schimpf (100 lbs.) finished 3rd. All four advance to this coming Sunday's District tournament at Findlay HS (9:30 am start).
The boys HS wrestling team finished 2nd as a team and had six boys qualify to advance from this past weekend's Sectional tournament. Jackson Gayheart (190 lbs.) and Alex Young (215 lbs.) were champions of their weight classes. Cal Geary (150 lbs.) and Bentley Gayheart (165 lbs.) finished 2nd. Braylen Depinet (175 lbs.) finished 3rd and Austin Lightner (126 lbs.) finished 4th. All 6 advance to this coming Friday's District tournament at Rossford HS (4:00 pm start).
